TEXT Matthew 28: 19-20
" Go therefore and make diusciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that i have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the ages."
We all need to arise and reach out to the unbelieving world to depopulate the kingdom of darkness and populate the kingdom of God.
Christ instruction on the great and supreme commission was very clear.
" Go therefore and make disciples of all nations..... TEACHING them to OBSERVE all things that i have commanded you... "

The body of Christ, today are more interested in winning souls for Christ, so that the building or auditorium will be filled up with people. And highest percentage of these large congregation are half baked Christians, who will end up creating trouble in the body of Christ in the future, because of their ignorance.
The fault is from the soul winners.
Jesus did not say "Win souls."
He said "make DISCIPLES".
You see, at times we get too much educated that we miss, important truth, been communicated by the word of God.
Unknown to this soul winners, they have become an instrument in the hand of the devil.
I'm sure you know as a believer, the devil can possess you and use you.
Don't you know?
If you do not know, go and ask Apostle Peter.
At a point Jesus said to Peter.
"Get behind me satan" In Matthew 16:23
The exact words He used for satan in Luke 4:8 when He was tempted at the commencement of His ministry.
Thank God Jesus prayed ahead for Peter, before his denial of Christ.

John Wesley made a remarkable statement, that everyone in the body of Christ need to take cognizance of:
He said;
"Winning souls for Christ, without a discipleship program, is to beget sons for the devil"
Do you know why?
If you don't. Just come along with me.
Soul winners, out of ignorance are populating the kingdom of darkness, promoting and populating it, instead of depopulating it.
This is one of the reasons the body of Christ is having serious problems today.
Romans 12:2 says;
"...be not conformed to this world..."
But what do we have today?
The world has gain full entrance into the Church (the body of Christ). Making the Church to conform to their worldly standards. We now have mixed multitudes in the body of Christ.
Don't forget that the people that really created problem between the Israelites and God, when they came out of bondage from Egypt were the mix multitudes who were not Israelites, but decided to follow them.
And we read in Exodus 12:38
"And a mixed multitude went up also with them; and flocks, and herds, even very much cattle."
Numbers 11:4-5
"And the mixed multitude that was among them fell a lusting: and the children of Israel also wept again, and said, Who shall give us flesh to eat?
We remember the fish, which we did eat in Egypt freely; the cucumbers, and the melons, and the leeks, and the onions, and the garlick:"
You can see that the problem in the above scriptures, was started by the mix multitude, before Israel joined.
Unfortunately, we have such mixed multitudes in Church, which is the body of Christ today.
The world has entered into the Church and the Church into the world. Such that, you find it difficult to identify the true light of the world.
We are the Light of the world, that means the world is suppose to get their illumination from our light. But unfortunately the reverse is the case.
This was one of the reasons why Christ was very specific about His instructions, in the great and supreme commission:
"He said: ..make disciples of all nations..... TEACHING them to OBSERVE all things that i have commanded you; "
.
I am sure you will agree with John Wesley that:
"Winning souls for Christ, without a discipleship program, is to beget sons for the devil"
The reasons behind this statement below:
We were once slaves under the rulership and dominion of the devil. We inherited that from the 1st Adam.
We are living under what we call spiritual death, under the bondage of the devil.
God delivered us out of the kingdom of darkness and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. Col1:13
Before we were delivered from the bondage of the devil. The devil was bound, as documented in Mark 3:27
"No man can enter into a strong man's house and spoil his goods, except he will first bind the strong man; and then he can spoil his house"We that were slave under the devil, were now made master over the devil, by virtue of all Christ did for us.
"Behold, I give unto you power to trend on serpents and scorpions, and over all the powers of the enemy (satan) and nothing shall by any means hurt you"
(Luke 10:19)Our adversary the devil, like a roaring Lion is going about, seeking whom he may devour. 1Peter 5:8.
He has to go about and seek, because he cannot devour everybody.
Why?
Many have been discipled and there is no how he can near them, not to talk of devouring them.
But he is seeking for those, whose soul has been won to Christ, that have not been discipled. So he can devour them. You can see why it is very dangerous to win souls for Christ, without a discipleship program.
CASE STUDY
Jesus cited a case study to support this in Luke11: 24-26
He said; if an unclean spirit is sent out of a man, and the unclean spirit could not find where to stay, he will always come back to check if his former abode is vacant or has been occupied (with the divine gospel truth from the word of God, the sword of the spirit). If he finds it empty, he will go and take seven spirits more wicked, including himself and they will all enter into the man. Jesus said, the last state of the man will be worst than his first state. Luke 11:24-26
SO WHAT IS DISCIPLESHIP?

The word disciple is taken from the word discipline.
Discipline means the way you have been taught.
For three and half years during His Earthy ministry, Christ taught the Apostles and followers, the kingdom of God's principles.
That is; How the kingdom of God operates. And because they were taught by Christ, they became His disciples.
And you will discover that Christ was able to reproduce and replicate Himself in the disciples.
So discipleship, is all about reproducing Christ in people. That was why the disciples were first called Christian at Antioch. Act 11:26
They were not the ones that called themselves Christian.
The people of Antioch took notice, that every of their speech, actions were exactly like that of Christ. (I.e. Christ-like) so they called them christ-ian (Christian).
So we can say that, Discipleship is all about winning souls for Christ and teaching them Christ kingdom principles and nurturing them to maturity in Christ.
A state in which, they have a better understanding of who they are in Christ and are fully aware of their covenant right and inheritance in Christ. And can also confidently go out and begin to also make disciple of nations too.
