Media is about good cashflow, as long as the fat pigs execs earn, they co-manufacture propaganda, blurt recycled news with the same old template on overhyped events. They just need common people to be triggered to react, comment, share, and any forms of engagement for profit sake. Put the camera lenses/word processor where the money is. They don't care if it's good, bad, or evil.
