Who killed Jesus? (2)
[Matthew 26:59~68] The chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin were looking for false evidence against Jesus so that they could put him to death. But they did not find any, though many false witnesses came forward. Finally two came forward and declared, "This fellow said, 'I am able to destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days.' " Then the high priest stood up and said to Jesus, "Are you not going to answer? What is this testimony that these men are bringing against you?" But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of God."
"Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty One and coming on the clouds of heaven." Then the high priest tore his clothes and said, "He has spoken blasphemy! Why do we need any more witnesses? Look, now you have heard the blasphemy. What do you think?" "He is worthy of death," they answered. Then they spit in his face and struck him with their fists. Others slapped him and said, "Prophesy to us, Christ. Who hit you?"."
In the words above, you can see that those who are looking for all the evidence to kill Jesus are the priests and the council, not Pilate. The main reason the priests want to kill Jesus is the fact he claims himself to be the Son of God, and says that he can destroy the temple of God and rebuild it in three days. Then why did Jesus come to earth and what is Jesus doing? Is he not the son of a carpenter who came to this world to build the temple of God? Jesus himself is a God’s church and holy temple where the spirit of God resides.
As such, Jesus himself is a true church and a true nature of temple, and he is the only carpenter and builder that can build the temple of God. Therefore, only he can build the temple of God that he dwells, as the temple God wants within his people through the Word of God. He referred himself to a cornerstone of the temple. The cornerstone is a living stone, which is the living word of life, in a metaphor. Jesus, who is a cornerstone and a builder, built the temple of God within his disciples with the words for three years, so that he could reside in them, and through this, the disciples were reborn as sons of God, and became the Apostles.
Also, when Jesus said that he could destroy the old temple and rebuild it in three days, three days did not literally mean three days, but was referring to the time and process required to finish the temple of God. In other words, the first day is the Egyptian period, the second day refers to the two days in the wilderness, and the third day is entering into Canaan and becoming son of God, in a metaphor. And when they say Jesus was buried in the tomb for three days, three days refer to three days and three nights, when three nights is the period it took to destroy the old temple, and three days is the period it took to rebuild the new temple. In this ways, three nights is the period that the old person dies, and three days is the period which the new man be born again.
Thus, three days is the three days of walk that Abraham took to go to the land of Moriah to sacrifice Isaac to God, and it refers to the period when the physical being dies and is revived into a spiritual being. When Jesus said in a metaphor that he would rebuild the temple in three days, it meant that he would destroy the old temple built non-the truths within his disciples, and build a new temple through the words of life that come from mouth of Jesus. After built temples within his disciples, Jesus entered within them and resurrected, therefore the disciples were reborn into the sons of God. The tomb Jesus was buried in refers to not the tomb buried in the dead body, but the dead bodies of the disciples, and when it says he resurrected from the dead, it means that he resurrected within his disciples and the disciples were reborn into sons of God. Through Jesus resurrecting within the disciples, his disciples were reborn into sons of God and became the Apostles. Neither the Jews nor his disciples understood these words of Jesus and the series of events. His disciples understood the true meaning behind Jesus’ saying when they resurrect the sons of God only after God’s the temples were built inside them and he rebuilt the temple in three days.
But the reason the Jews wanted to kill Jesus wasn’t because he said that he could rebuild the temple in three days, but was because they themselves claimed to be the Son of God. The problem is that it’s not only the Jews but also today’s Christians, if Jesus comes now and he is the Son of God, they would consider him a cult and try to kill him. But they also brag by calling themselves the sons of God. Then for what reason are the sons of God trying to ostracize and kill the Son of God that God has sent as Savior?
That is because even though they call themselves the sons of God, they are not sons of God, and when the real Son of God comes, they will be revealed as fake God’s son. The Jews as well as today's Christians have no choice but to deny and kill the Son of God (Jesus). Rather, Jesus says to the Jews that they belong to their father, the devil, and that they are descendents of serpents and sons of vipers, not sons of God.
