Today I got some doubts, and could not find the answer in my quick search.
So let me ask here, perhaps somebody is sure how it all works, and can answer me right away.

Which part that beneficiary 10% cuts off, from the TOTAL amount of rewards (before splitting them 50:50), or only from the author's part?
In other words, which is the case, ver1 or ver2 :

In my eyes, ver.2 would be moRE logical and justified.
Why?
Because ONLY author have CERTAIN powers to change, or/and choose, what beneficiaries will be, and how large the % will be.
Curators do NOT have such possibility, they can only curate "what it is", or as ALTERNATIVE, ONLY SKIP AWAY WITHOUT DOING ANY UPVOTING.

Second part of this question - is the formula in use ALL the same for both POB and HIVE?
If not - how this "CUT-OFF" works on HIVE rewards?
