One of the first things that got me puzzling is the appearance of many other tokens within the Hive network.
For new comers who just came onboard, this is a quick introduction. Hopefully you will find it useful.
Basically, Hive is what we call the base layer or layer 1 in this ecosystem. As a blockchain network, it can accommodate other projects which can also issue their tokens. These tokens can be considered as layer 2 tokens that resides on the the layer 1, Hive network.
If you check out Hive-Engine, you can see other token tradable within it.
For example, you see LEO above, which is trading at $0.304 at the moment. For now, it is sufficient that you know that Leo Finance is a project that resides on the Hive base layer. They have a token called LEO that is used for staking and rewarding users of their platform services.
In Leo Finance's case, the advantage is that the posts you made from https://leofinance.io/ is possibly going to gain you two types of tokens. Namely, the Hive token by virtue that you are posting on the Hive network even though you are posting from Leo Finance, and the LEO token as explained above.
Of course, there are other communities with their own tokens that can be earned. Sometimes it is as simple as using their hashtags for it be eligible for more tokens to be earned. For example, you can use #proofofbrain and #pob to earn some pob tokens.
I am also new to this, so if you have been here for a long time, I welcome your corrections and feedback in the comments below. I am trying to make it easy for others to come onboard Hive. As you can see, my username is @onboarder! :)
