Colossians 2:11-12 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Whatever Idea we hold about baptism should be consistent with the word of God.
Baptism is a form of incooperation into the body of Christ, into the family of God.
By getting baptized, we are buried with Christ and also risen with him by faith. It’s a physical representation of our spiritual reality when we give our lives to Christ.
Romans 6:4 "Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life." ... And just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glorious power of the Father, now we also may live new lives."
Baptism ushers is into the ability to live new lives in Christ.
The church is the family of God and the only place for baptism.
Acts 2:38. Peter replied, 'Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sin.
Baptism is also a means of evangelism.
