When we talk about how many times do we have to study the word of God, we consider that one of us as Christians should ask, is it once in a week or once in a month?
What we have learned is that there should be no certain date when one should study the word of God. This is evident in the Bible in Joshua 1:8 that stated as follows, the book of the Lord shall not depart of thy mouth, but thou shalt meditate it there and there.
This also demonstrates that we must desire the word of God. It's not an activity we perform when we are in the mood, but it must be incorporated in our life.
Another experience with this is Acts 7:11, which informs us that they received the word with all readiness and by starting with the scriptures. They never read the scriptures once in a while. They teach us to keep studying the word of God day in, day out.
Psalm 102 also goes on to say that, but his joy is in the law of the Lord, and in his law he meditates day and night. Ask yourself, how often do we study the word of God? How many times do you practice the word of God every day?
We must learn to draw closer to God by doing his word. And the word will direct our lives. In Jesus' name. Amen.
