However it was not always this way in old generation consoles (PS 3), PS plus only offered discounts, and free games, where the are two or more games every month. and the service was good this way.In fact this aspect of the subscription during the current gen consoles is quite decent. As it allows you to "rent" games that are that are usually worth from $50-100 or more collectively. (that is what i have seen so far and could have used using my PS 4) with only $10 a month or even less depending on your subscription.
this aspect now of PS plus is the determining factor that makes me eager to purchase the subscription. since i have got magnificent games that i can play all day long using this subscription. These games include:

Assassin's Creed Freedom Cry which is a DLC for AC 4, and it captures its essence really good, however it is too short. Hue which is a fun little indie puzzle game with a unique style. Track mania Turbo is an arcade track racing game with quite some challenge. Moreover it holds in its selves some enjoyable stunt rich tracks |

Other games that i got but i have not got to trying out yet; because of the limited storage of my PS4 are Deus ex mankind divided, bombing busters, Claire, Grand Kingdom, Knack, Mad Max, Mighty No.9, Q*bert Rebooted, Ratchet and Clank, StarBlood arena, Xcom 2 and trials fusion. I could have also got Call of duty black ops 3, but i already bought that so it would be useless.
So to summarize Although I do not have any problem for PS plus to be like Humble for PC, in fact i would like it this way, allowing for good discounts and giving of free games (despite of them being only playable when the subscription is working and on), I greatly despise the fact that I must subscribe as well to be able to enjoy online with friends. (to be frank it is possible to join the online section of free games like Warframe and Fortnite. but the point still stands)
