I was forced to leave my family and homeland and seek refuge in Germany in late 2014 because I refused to perform mandatory military service.
I refused to serve a brutal regime that killed its own people—with the help of Russia and Iran—simply to avoid relinquishing power to anyone else.
Then, in late 2024, the tyrannical regime in Syria fell.
