The Bible teaches that going to heaven is not simply a matter of destiny in the sense that a person's future is fixed regardless of their choices. God desires all people to be saved and offers the gift of eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. Each person is called to respond to God's invitation with repentance, faith, and obedience.
While God is sovereign and knows the future, the Bible consistently emphasizes human responsibility. Those who trust in Christ and follow Him are given the hope of eternal life in heaven. Therefore, going to heaven is not presented as an unavoidable destiny for everyone, but as the result of accepting God's grace and living in a relationship with Him.
