Obligations of the household for their prayers to be answered
1 Corinthians 7:3, husbands should render that which is due to their wives, likewise the wives. The wife has no power over her body but the husband, the same to the husband. 1 Corinthians 7:5 As married couples, we were taught not to dafraud our bodies from one another, except by agreement. That is when we want to devout ourselves to fasting and prayer. When a husband and wife wants to pray for a particular thing, they need to abstain from the desires of the flesh. After which, they should come together again to avoid temptations from the devil.
Isaiah 58:6, As a household, when we fast, we should loose all the bonds of wickedness. Feed the hungry, shelter the homeless and cloth the necked. Infact, We are to do good to all men, forgive all those who have offended us. Then shall our prayers be answered and we will be healed of our illness. Science also proved that fasting boost our immune system.
Hebrew 13:4, marriage is honourable before God. We should not defile the bed because God will judge who ever does that. The bible says that whoever looks at a woman and lust after her has already committed adultery.
1 Peter 3 :7, For God to answer the prayer of a husband, he should dwell with his wife according to knowledge, giving her honour as unto the weaker vessel. Also husbands should abstain from sexual relationship with their wives during their monthly flow.
1 Corinthians 11:4_5, For God to answer the prayer of a husband and wife, the man should pray with his head not covered because he is the image and glory of God. A man is not supposed to keep long hair. The woman should pray with her head covered. The covering is the symbol Showing that she is under authority. The long hair of a woman is for her glory. Also the bible commanded the men to love their wives as their own body. The wives should also reverence their husbands.
In summary we should understand that our actions can change another. 1 Corinthians 7:14, As husbands and wives, our behaviors Can sanctify each other. An unbelieving husband can be sanctified by the wife, same as an unbelieving wife. So let's obey the commandment of God concerning prayers and fasting.
