Been studying the Libra Whitepaper (Facebook's proposed Crypto), and I now think it's probably just as good as anything else. It has the right goals (bringing Crypto to the masses on a secure blockchain platform).
I did see, however, it will start as a 'permissioned' blockchain (meaning only those with permission will be able to run nodes/validators-like Facebook and it's partners (Visa, etc). It says they plan to migrate to 'permissionless' at some point (don't hold your breath :-)
I would say it's more of a stablecoin than anything, at this point (like Tether(USDT).
The only 'bad' I see is it's backed by all these 'Industry Giants' (bad or good I guess, depending on who you are :-)
