We have some serious wildfires in Northen Alberta at the moment.
It's happening 700 km north of Edmonton and authorities already evacuated 10000 people. I read on the news that flames traveling 23 meters per minute - almost 30 km in one day.
But people really don't care, I included. As long it is far enough.
This morning we woke up in the foggy morning. Only after a couple of minutes, I realized that it's not fog but smoke. We can smell it even in the house.
I went for groceries at noon and it was so dark that the headlights on all cars were on. A strange orange light was scary.
It was cold. Yesterday it was 30 today 17 degrees C.
Apocalypse. Like in SF movies.
My eyes are itchy and red.
Now we start to feel the people up north. Some of them lost their homes.
Poor people.
We can watch the sun with bare eyes.
We just stayed in the house all day.
This is the sky we want to see in the coming days.
The Weatherman promised so.
Besides winter and construction season we have wildfire season too. Like last summer.
We trying to catch the good moments. They are not many, but still.
We'll donate a buck or two to clear our conciseness and in a few days, we'll forget about this and move on, but those poor people will need to build new homes.
And the talking heads on TV will find a new topic.
We, humans, are strange and cruel animals.
Stay safe out there, my friends.
