I am going to try a slightly different way to post to my Steemit blog. For the next set of posts I will not interrupt my flow by doing any resteems and will only post pictures and comments germane to our RV trip around Nova Scotia.
The native Mi'kmaq people were displaced by European settlers from France and Britain who then settled and fought over this territory for years. The first European settlers were French speaking Acadians who were eventually evicted by the British. Their lands were given to the New England Planters. After the War of Independence tens of thousands Loyalists had moved to the other British colonies in America many to Nova Scotia.
Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, Ontario, and Quebec formed the nucleus of Canada in 1867 mostly out of fear of United States invasion and disgust with the US Civil War.
The province is roughly the size of Lake Superior so we planned three weeks for an RV circumnavigation of the island.
