I report this quick unscientific observation.
After the 20% minimum wage hike in Ontario of Jan 2018. The pace of the fast food kiosk invasion has speed up and now Tim Hortons and Wendys is following MacDonalds and putting kiosks in to reduce the headcount taking orders.
Wonder if Starbucks or other coffee stores is next, all those chains with mobile ordering is halfway there and can easily put up kiosks reusing most of the software.

Interestingly with all the kiosk and handheld barcode scanner they have deployed, Walmart has kept the greeting person!
