Music inspires, music is an endless release, music is life and most importantly, music is expressive.
The first song I am going with for today is:
Artist: "Coldplay feat. Selena Gomez"
Title of Song: "Let Somebody Go"
I love this song so much because Coldplay and Selena Gomez did justice to both aspects of this song when it comes to break up. If you love someone, you have to let them go rather than allow them to keep hurting by being together. If being separate gives that ease, then it's better to let that person heal rather than constantly hurt them by being together. I have a feeling this song has personal meaning behind it and it's not surprising how both artists sang their hearts out on this song. It's a song everyone can relate to, especially those who had to deal with break up. I admire how both artists sang from both sides of a breakup so they left no stone unturned which makes it expressive and relatable. Sometimes, love is not enough as we have come to understand. There are some things that runs deeper in a relationship. You have to listen to this song and understand the personal effect to it.
The second song I am going with for today is:
Artist: "Passenger"
Title of Song: "Let Her Go"
You only recognize how special a moment is until it becomes a memory. This is what sometimes happen to those in love. Love is amazing, no doubt about that but part of loving is to let someone go. The artist explained that this song has two meanings to it and the first being not appreciating a moment until it's gone and the second one is understandable because he wrote it after a break up. Part of loving others and even loving yourself is to let that person go. Holding on to what's not working, to the part and even memories can sometimes keep you on a leash and you won't move ahead. Part of loving is to let go as it helps the other person just as much as it helps you too.
Just like the first song, I love the tune, the rendition and the melody of this song. It's sweet, classy, epic and it can't run out of style. I can see how a lot of people can relate to this song as well. We all have moments we didn't appreciate until it's gone and at one point or the other, we have our heart broken too. Holding on to certain situations would always in the end hurt and haunt us, so it's best to let it go. It's not easy but it's worth it. There is a difference between hard and impossible...it might be hard but not impossible.
The last song I am going with for today is:
Artist: "Sting"
Title of Song: "If You Love Somebody Set Them Free"
Hahaha I said let me end with this song that topped the chart for rock category many years ago... It's classic, it's vintage hahaha and enjoyable... You can't help but shake your body to this tune as you soak up the lyrics.
I have a thing for old songs because I believe they have so many deep undertone to their lyrics. This song is a satisfying jazz, R&B and R&R... It passes for these categories and it's about setting people free. You can't claim to love them and keep them hostage. You can't claim to love them and want them to do things only to please you without checking with their feelings. I also believe that the highest compliment you can pay a partner is to let them know that you don't own them. We all have the right to our thoughts, feelings and choices...so set them free...allow them to live.
