I took a walk round my neighborhood today and i discovered a building (storey building) under construction, seeing the building, i could count thousands of blocks used in constructing the building.
I was curious and thats what led to my research to findout how this concrete blocks/bricks were made and luckily i could get an industry where all these blocks/bricks are being produced.
- How are these concrete blocks/bricks made?.
Firstly, the concrete blocks are the combinations of cement,sand,water and sometimes gravel.
- How does this work?
Of course this is done with a help of a machine by combining all the ingredients; the cement,sand,water and gravel and sometimes plus other materials like coal, mine slag at appropriate ratios and the machine is down on at a high pressure so as to manufacture a hollow block.
This is the machine at which the concrete block/brick is baked, at appropriate mixture ratio.

- How much will I have to start my own concrete block/bricks industry?
First thing is to get a relatively big portion of land whether to buy,rent or lease and then having close to a million (Naira), thats about $1500-2k (Dollar). About 500 blocks/bricks can be produced in a day depending on ones ability and number of labour, and the number of machines you have.
Another important thing is water, there must be adequate water and the supply wherever you are building your block industry. Water is very useful.
