Deadline day with multiple deals still yet to be completed.
We kick off this week's roundup with a done deal. Former Barcelona youngster Ilaix Moriba has joined RD leipzig, having quoted 20 million euros for the highly rated teenager who only ever made 18 appearances for the senior side. The German giants have successfully concluded a 15 million euro move with less than a year remaining on his deal in Spain and refusing to extend the Catalans were forced into selling the highly rated 18 year old who only made his debut for the club last January in the copa del rey. According to mundo deportivo though jessie marsha's side weren't the only club interested in signing the dynamic midfielder, with mareeba having turned down approaches from both Spurs and Chelsea during the window.
The article even claims that the lily whites were willing to offer B aarcelona their 20 million euro asking price but he elected to join the German outfit. When you think about it that's not really that surprising, especially considering Leipzig's excellent reputation for developing young stars including Upamakano kanate and kunku and with marcel sabatson at Bayern Munich. Muriba will have seen an opportunity to gain regular minutes in Germany over north London.
Personally, we are just delighted this is all over. It's never nice watching a young player fall out with this club and with Coleman supposedly considering leaving him permanently out of the first team pitcher before losing him for free next summer. This was clearly the best option for the Guinean. With les mahadara campbell and Adams to compete with in east Germany, it certainly won't be easy for Moriba to break into the first team. But we're glad he's chosen to develop in Germany over the next few years rather than Russia move to the bright lights of the premier league.
