Title: BW Hedgehog
This type of mammal, known for its spines that serve as a defense mechanism, often passes through my yard in the summer. There is a popular belief that when hedgehogs appear, that's when a period of good weather begins. I don't know if this is true, but it coincided with this year's weather conditions and the appearance of hedgehogs.
Hedgehogs are nocturnal animals and generally become active at dusk. They are omnivores that feed mainly on insects, frogs, snakes, berries, melons and carrion. "Our" hedgehog can also clean the cat food that we feed the cat.
If they feel that they are in danger, they curl up into a ball, protecting themselves with spines.
