I haven't posted in the community in quite some time. But it's also been a long since I photographed mushrooms. I came across two fascinating species last week that I'd like to share with you.
Common earthball
Sometimes life choose strange place to develop. Maybe this common earthball should be called common concreteballs or brickballs since I found them emerging from the cracks in the concrete and bricks.
Common stinkhorn
This variety of mushroom grows from an egg that is often hidden in the grass or just beneath the earth. The inside of the egg is edible at this point. Soon after, it develops into a phallic shape, emitting a foul odor that attracts insects, which transfer the spores.
