WHAT DOES GOD HATE?
PROVERBS 6:16-19
INTRODUCTION:
God’s love is so enduring, so overwhelming, and so accommodating that, it sometimes can be taken for granted that such a loving Father cannot hate. But trust the Bible in its objective renderings and openness. It shows that not only can God hate, but He does HATE. Permit this logical question, please. If God’s love is so extreme in capacity, what do you think is the case when the coin flips, and He hates. Horrendous? Horrific? Disastrous? Maddening ...? What does he hate?
- Taking advantage of oppressed people, maltreatment of the fatherless; regards to the widow, wild parties; feasts/festivals and orgies of sinners. Isaiah 1:11-17
- A proud look; a lying tongue, murderers, a heart that devices wicked imaginations, feet that are quick to rush into evil; a false witness; and a person who stirs up dissension (discord, enmity) among brethren. Proverbs 616:19
- Deceitfulness and lies; false judgement and injustice; evil plots against others; swearing; Esau’s nature and temperament, divorce or separation and violent people. Zechariah 8:17, Malachi 1:3,2:16
