To wait on God means:

  • To spend time before God in His presence.

  • To fellowship with God continually and habitually. “One thing have I desired of the Lord, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the Lord, and to enquire in His temple” (Psalm 27:4).

  • To pray and fast unto God. “Go gather together all the Jews that are present in Shushan, and fast ye for me and neither eat nor drink three ‘lays, night or day, I also and my maidens will fast likewise…” (Esther 4:1 6).

  • To abide in the place of service in God’s house. “And it came to pass, that while he executed the priest’s office before God in the order of hic course” (Luke 1:8).

  • To cultivate and maintain the consciousness of God’s presence. “1 have set the Lord always before me, because he is at my right hand…” (Psalm 16:8).
