How God gives rest:
- Salvation through Jesus Christ. You cannot have peace until you receive the Prince of peace.
- Warfare prayers. “…we have sought the Lord our God, we have sought Him, and He hath given us rest on every side...” (2 Chronicles 14:7b)
- Through knowledge of the scriptures.
- Through the ministration of deliverance. “In my name, they shall cast out devils ...” (Mark 16:17).
- Through saturation with God’s presence. “And he said, My presence shall go with thee, and I will give thee rest” (Exodus 33:14)
- Through speaking in tongues. “For with a stammering lips and another tongue will he speak to this people. To whom he said, This is the rest wherewith ye may cause the weary to rest…” (lsaiah28:11.12).
- Peace by all means. “Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always and by all means ...” (2 Thessalonians 3:16).
When God gives rest from bondage, He guarantees peace, preservation and progress.
