Berlin is not that interesting any more. It truely was until 10 years ago. Then there came investors and fortunehunters who build ugly conformist architecture and let apartments for sky high prices. It is all gentrification and hip neighbourhoods now. And now Berlin lives up its reputation to be cool, but it is not. Pretty much overrated nowadays, getting expensive etc. On the other hand. Investments are not made where they are needed, for example bridges which are in dire need of repair, schools which (a lot of them) are literally falling apart, unqualified teachers because the proper ones are deemed too expensive, social housing, etc. Lots of problems with right winged parties and politicians, a lot of racism, homophobia and mysogyny. Berlin is a far cry from the cool and relaxed city it was. I was born here and I hardly recognize this city any more.
