A new chapter is about to begin. The first alpha of The Fallen Mages will start soon, and we are excited to invite players into the world we have been building. This early version will give participants the opportunity to experience the foundations of the game, discover its different modes, and share valuable feedback with us.
The Fallen Mages combines a story focused single player adventure with a competitive multiplayer experience. Both modes are built around magic, strategy, progression, and meaningful decisions, but each of them offers a different way to play.
The single player mode takes you on a magical journey through a world filled with danger, mystery, and forgotten stories. You will travel across the world map, visit villages, meet interesting characters, and accept quests that lead you into new regions.
Villages act as important places where you can prepare for upcoming adventures, learn more about the world, and interact with its inhabitants. As your journey continues, you will discover new locations and uncover the stories behind the people, creatures, and conflicts that shape the land.
Quests will send you into forests, dungeons, and other dangerous areas. Some challenges will test your strength in combat, while others will encourage exploration and careful observation. You will face different enemies, powerful variants, and threatening bosses as you learn how to use your abilities effectively.
The single player experience is designed to create a sense of adventure and steady progression. Every completed quest and every defeated enemy brings you closer to understanding the world of The Fallen Mages. During the alpha, players will be able to help us evaluate combat, exploration, quests, progression, and the overall flow of the adventure.
The multiplayer mode offers a competitive tower defence experience inspired by classic line tower battles. Each player must protect their own path while looking for opportunities to pressure their opponents.
You will build towers, improve their abilities, and create a defence that can survive increasingly dangerous waves. Choosing the right towers is only part of the challenge. Their placement, upgrades, and interaction with different enemy types can decide whether your defence succeeds or collapses.
At the same time, you can invest resources into sending creatures toward your opponents. These creatures place additional pressure on their defences and can expose weaknesses in their strategy. Stronger creatures may be more dangerous, but they also require careful economic planning.
Managing your economy is therefore just as important as building towers. You must decide when to strengthen your defence, when to improve your income, and when to launch an attack. Spending too much on one area can leave you vulnerable in another. Every match creates new tactical situations, and every opponent may require a different approach.
Players will also be able to face computer controlled opponents, making it possible to learn the rules and test strategies before entering more competitive matches. The multiplayer alpha will help us improve tower balance, creature balance, match pacing, economic decisions, computer opponents, and the overall competitive experience.
An alpha is an important step in development. It allows us to see how the game feels when real players explore its systems, discover unexpected strategies, and encounter situations that are difficult to reproduce during internal testing.
Participants should expect an early version of the game. Features may change, content may be expanded, and some parts may still need additional development. Your feedback will help us understand what already works well and where the experience can become clearer, more exciting, and more enjoyable.
If you would like to participate in the alpha of The Fallen Mages, please leave a comment and tell us that you are interested. We are looking forward to welcoming our first players and hearing about their adventures, battles, ideas, and experiences.
