Did you know about the fight between Zlatan and Onyewu Oguchi?
If you know this giant Swede you would know his humuor,his 'sharp' mouth that will refer to himself as god or nominally "the Lion"– he even has a huge tattoo of a Lion on his back. Well I see his seemingly proud mouth as his kind of humuor but I know a lot of folks take it really seriously. Welcome to the sights and sounds of Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
A footballer who nearly 'killed' Zlatan was Onyewu Oguchi. Well, Onyewu is of the United States of America, having being born there and duly played for his country's National team in various competitions before in September 2018 he announced his retirement from professional football. However his parents are from Africa, particularly Nigerian and unmistakingly of the Igbo tribe therein.
Onyewu was
one of the most feared defenders during his prime days due to his big,well built body, strength and height. He stands
tall at 6ft 4in(193m),while Zlatan Ibrahimovic is slightly taller at 6ft 5in(195m). He once
had a serious fight with Zlatan Ibrahimovic that caused Zlatan serious injuries. The
incident happened back in 2010, particularly November 5th, when both Zlatan and Onyewu were teammates at
AC Milan. AC Milan were on the training pitch preparing for a league match against Bari when the incidence occured– the fight began immediately after Zlatan made a reckless sliding tackle towards
Onyewu's legs. Zlatan missed the tackle but it was apparent to Onyewu that Zlatan had sinister intentions to hurt him and he confronted Zlatan.
The big man turned to Zlatan and grabbed his neck. What followed was a headbutt from Zlatan and that's how the fight began. The two big men fought as the rest of
their teammates watched. According to Gennaro Gattuso who was their teammate, "it was not
easy to separate them. The fight lasted for about five minutes before they finally
separated the two of them."
However, it was Zlatan who had suffered a serious injury after the fight. Zlatan suffered a broken rib and he needed medical attention. Two
months later, Onyewu was loaned out to FC Twente so as to ease the tension in the squad.
They both winded up in the United States later in their careers and some humorously say they rekindled their fight there.
Well in Zlatan's parlance let's summarize this episode: 'Zlatan don't lose fights, fights lose to Zlatan.' OR 'You can't hurt Zlatan, Zlatan hurts himself because Onyewu can't.' Some strange fable has it that Zlatan has been playing the broken ribs for 5 years.
