It's true. Men do fear going bald. It's one of the things we least look forward to as we grow older. But as to whether its a bad thing, the answer is no. In fact there are a lot of advantages to going bald that people don't even know about

1) bald men are thought and seen as more masculine that men who keep locks of hair. When a man is completely bald, he is seen as assertive, dominant, masculine and strong. Research carried out by comparing pictures of men with full heads of hair against against themselves with all their hair showed that the bald men appeared

13% more dominant

13% stronger

10% more masculine

6% more confident

About an inch taller

They looked about four years older.

2)one of the causes of baldness is increased testosterone levels in the body. But this same increase in testosterone also causes an increase in metabolism. It also boosts muscle growth and basically helps the body get in shape.

3) while the increased testosterone that comes with baldness is said to increase chances of prostrate cancer, the disease is more to lack of vitamin D. Something which can be gotten from sunlight. So having a bald head allows for more vitamin D intake from the sun and as such, in itself reduces the risk of prostrate cancer more than the testosterone raises it.
