That's the reality. Real estate worked well when demographics, work, and credit were all aligned. Now, all those pillars are shifting remote work, lower marriage rates, banking stress.
The part about office buildings is especially interesting. They were built for a world that doesn't exist anymore. Converting them to housing sounds easy, but it's not the plumbing, layout, and zoning all fight against it.
I wonder if the next generation will even see homeownership the same way. For many young people in Ghana, building a house feels like a lifetime goal, not an easy step.
