It was supposed to be the perfect Christmas,
Lights illuminating the chapel at mass,
And a walk in the park after,
Two of us alone together;
But not as I anticipated,
Fate had another thing in store

Ruthlessly, our love, apart it tore,
For you didn’t chose a better day, a day before
The day of our tryst; sitting under
The mango tree, rain begetting thunder,
Bodies locked, lips on lips;
Consummating our love with a psalm;

You said goodbye alright, eyes wide open, loudly
Communicating feelings words would make cloudy;
You went dead cold in my hands,
Leaving me alone without friends;
And I’m left between reality and daydream;
Our plans shattered forever.
