I welcome you to my blog. The continuous evolution of technology has impacted our world in ways that words cannot even describe. There were times when communication had to be face-to-face or it did not happen at all, but today we have a world where we can know all that is happening in a friend's or family member's life without even seeing them physically. Thanks to technology, we keep more in touch with friends and loved ones but hardly even see them or see them in person; the need for seeing each other or having a face-to-face interaction has reduced drastically since the evolution of technology.
As much as technology made it possible to communicate when we want and how much we want, it came with demerits, and they have been affecting our lives as individuals and as families negatively. Before social media and easy communication, we visited family and friends often and created an unbreakable bond together, but today we just talk and chat over the phone, and the best we can do is a video call, which has little impact compared to seeing and spending time physically. Today it is easier to tear a family apart compared to back in the days because families don't have strong bonds anymore and a little problem can cause everything to just fall apart.
Today even families still living together don't even spend time together, not to talk of those who are far away; today we have family members locked up in their rooms and spending most of their time scrolling through social media rather than spending time with each other. Once, I followed a friend to his hometown, and until we left, we only saw his siblings during morning prayers, and after that, they spent the rest of their day in their rooms, going from one social media app to another and sometimes coming out to take food.

Left for me I will say the effect of social media on families, particularly, is more negative than positive; it made communication with those far easy while breaking, destroying, and stopping those close from creating any bond. Even for those far away, just communication over the phone is not enough to create or make any bond. When they see each other for a period of time, they don't spend time with each other; they still spend time scrolling social media too. Social media is breaking homes and stopping strong bonds from existing amongst family members.
