Thinking of Valentine: LOVE SEASON.
LOVE & ROMANCE, the centre of focus of the popularly celebrated VALETINE'S DAY, is beyond the generally accepted view people have about it and it's most time streamlined to romance and the likes, most especially when it is shared with ones whom you love and vice versa, who share same vison with you and are able to pay the sacrifices with you to keep whatever you(in general) share with them for as long as earthspace.
I'll quickly and in layman's terms highlight the kinds of love with simplified understanding so anyone can relate.
*KINDS OF LOVE*
EROS :- from the name Erotica, was the Greek God of love . People in ancient times feared this type of love as they felt it was dangerous because of its lust and sexual desires.
PHILIA :- (the love of the mind).
This kind of love is seen in people who sincerity in their actions towards others most especially true friends. Its harmless than the former .
It is also known as platonic love or brotherly love...
LUDUS :- also known as playful love, is the type that is child-like and fun to experience: holds no grudge irrespective, yet brings a sense of togetherness when involved in such.
PRAGMA :- longstanding love..
This is seen more in relationships that became marriages and it's more practical from the word,'pragma' - pragmatic .
This involves building over the time which enables partners involved build a level of understanding and trust over the time and this gives the Union a longstanding love or "long standing in love" rather than the commonly used term "falling in love".
AGAPE :- Agape, the commonest practised by religious folks whose term is close to unconditional love.
Its selfless and its love for humanity.
I think everyone needs this type of love.
PHILAUTIA :- Ever heard of this phrase .
'Love your neighbor as yourself'
It's more focused on self and pleasure seeking. You may hardly love someone if its not practised on self.
I think most relationships need this.
STORGE :- (love for a child)
This is the type a parent feels for their children whether biological,spiritual or adopted .
This love comes natural and without efforts.
It comes with forgiveness, acceptance, even if there was a need to hold back because of anger,this type of love overrides such emotional defect and brings peace where it was lacking.
February 14 is a time to show appreciation for friends, families, people of significance and anyother person you might love.
As for me, its a time to spend quality time with my heartrob; the one who made me believe in love again and against all odds has proven to me beyond reasonable doubts that I can be human.
Actually, it is important to note that every day of the year should be about love,however this day from history has been chosen to make your lover or whoever feels your impact much better than other days.
The outings;
The gifts buying;
The adventures, and so on.
I really don't know about others but for me it's really going to be a moment to remember.
