Amidst furious bursts of thunder and lightning,
Comes the rain;
She has a dishevelled and unkempt look,
The loose ends of her flowing garment
Float in the air;
She comes to play hide and seek
With the merry grey clouds;
At times she dances a slow waltz
Often breaking into a fast foot tapping dance
To the rhythm of the romantic
Monsoon song.
The thirst of the earth is quenched
By the gentle caress of the rains;
The green leaves and the blooming flowers
Are rejuvenated by her tender kiss.
The tears in my eyes flow and merge
With the falling silver raindrops,
As my mind wanders,losing itself
Within the dark shadows
In the distant horizon.
I hear him calling me endearingly
In the sound of the rain drenched breeze.
I sit alone brooding,at the window
A storm raging within.
