I have completely forgotten about a bonsai I had in a corner of my studio. Poor thing lost all its leaves from many months of neglect. I was sprinkling it with water to try and revive it when I remembered someone on TV using a spray and a laser line to visualize aerosols. I thought a mini tree would be the ideal subject to give that a go as the scale of the aerosols make it look like it could be rain falling on a tree. Of course, the sharp shadows and the scant branches give away the scale but that's no reason to not try and create the illusion.
I used a cold white balance to make the green laser appear blue and then did a two-way camera rotation and a GIF for good measure.
