According to a new survey, the majority of US crypto holders made their first investment last year, which means we're still early in the game! Not surprised though, 2021 was the year that marked the beginning of the new era. Unlike 2017, crypto has a lot more to offer, we expanded like crazy. NFT and #NFT based gaming are the new driving force that will bring the masses closer.
About 70% of crypto hodlers in the U.S. started investing in cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin (BTC) in 2021, according to the Crypto Perception Report 2022 by Huobi Group, the operator of major crypto exchange Huobi.
The survey found 68% of respondents got their first crypto exposure within the last year, while another 21% of those started investing in crypto up to two years ago. 12% of respondents made their first crypto investment within four years, while 9% began investing in crypto more than four years ago.
I think the main reason are NFT gaming because it's a lot easier to digest gaming in comparison to #Defi and impermanent loss. No for real, to understand what decentralized finance means, you gotta dig deep, and most people are not willing to do so.
The study suggests that there's a lot of scepticism and fear around the industry, which comes natural after countless scams and price volatility. Not everyone has a stomach to see their investment get down 20% in a day, lel.
The study also suggested that there鈥檚 still a lot of skepticism around the crypto industry, with 42% of respondents feeling it was too risky to invest in crypto. 34% of interviewees were also concerned about the lack of market regulations, while 24% of respondents noted that they didn鈥檛 have enough capital to invest in crypto.
I'd say we're on the right track and 2022 will be even bigger year than most realize. Sure, we had a bumpy start, however, it doesn't mean things won't change. Remember, sentiment changes quite quickly.
Crypto is still young and unregulated, but the benefits are too big to stay neglected.
Gg wp lads.
