I actually love the idea of using ad revenue to reward stakeholders. It gives them incentive to behave in a certain way, where it's in their best interest to share and build as much as possible

Always wondered how come no one used ads as leverage to attract new stakeholders.

On the other hand, you can always gamify ads, it doesn't have to be intrusive or annoying though, projects can play around on how to make it more fun.
