Yeah, I would agree with you to some extent regarding BTC value as a pioneering tech, but it's more than that. BTC has a strong community, a lot of nodes, miners, investors, speculators...Corporative interest is obviously taking place and I don't think it'll change anytime soon.

We can't disregard the fact that the community is what's giving BTC value. The same is with gold, if there wasn't for people thinking of how beautifull it is, it wouldn't have any value, regardless of how scarce it is.
