This is pretty much exactly how I make my apple pie. However, mine doesn't look nearly as pretty as yours since I never tried the weaving and decoration. They look really pretty and the eyes 'eat' first, right? Maybe I'll try it one day.

The fact that you found and harvested wild apples is wonderful. I wish. Close to my sister's place there is a meadow with a few wild apples and she always harvests those, bakes apple cake and freezes it. It works really well, but of course fresh is best!

I actually wanted to make apple pie this weekend, bought apples especially for it but then the weekend got away from me. Next weekend.
