I'm very similar to you in that I don't like to sit and watch my hubby work around the house while I can't or don't do anything of the sort. But there have been a time or two that I couldn't do much (e.g. broken foot or hand) and, you know what? I realized he actually loves tending to me. After I had healed we used to joke about how fun it was when he cut the food for me and helped me eat or dress etc. so many things. I felt f***g stupid helpless at the time but he genuinely enjoyed being able to help me.
All to say, you two make a great team. For now it is Jamie helping and you on the receiving end but sooner or later it may be the other way around as well. Give and take. Balance.
Sending healing thoughts for your hip. You need to get back into the ocean! And while you can't do that, have Jamie drive you there and spend time at the beach. Ocean air is healing to the soul.
