There is so much going on in blockchain technology and the most promising and fearful is using ledger blockchain to force social compliance (see this article in coindesk ).
So we can "hold the diamond producer's feet to the fire" ability can be used for regulating prostitution, pedophiles, politicians, gambling, drugs and other social ills and aims. Like scofflaws!
Perhaps the average taxpayer will be regulated by government blockchain ledger. Freedom or finance and commerce? IRS compliance or else? Informal or formal parole or probation?

I think I still support barter as a relative worth of goods and services model but the new digerati are ledger blockchain puppets. Freedom is probably too messy for the permanency promised by digital MONEY.
