Cristina felt like that old boat in the painting: old and lonely, and no one taking care of her. Her grown daughter had gone to study in another city, menopause tortured her in every possible way, and her husband had an affair with a younger colleague, not yet subjected to the tyranny of hormones. But it was time to stop feeling sorry for herself: she went to the beautician, bought all the supplements she needed, booked a little vacation in the mountains, changed the door lock and left her husband's bags on the landing

Cristina si sentiva come quella vecchia barca nel dipinto: vecchia e sola, e nessuno che si prendeva cura di lei. Sua figlia ormai grande era andata a studiare in un'altra città, la menopausa la torturava in tutti i modi possibili e suo marito aveva una tresca con una collega più giovane, non sottoposta ancora alla tirannia degli ormoni. Ma era ora di finirla di piangersi addosso: andò dall'estetista, comprò tutti gli integratori di cui aveva bisogno, prenotò una piccola vacanza in montagna, cambiò la serratura di casa e lasciò le valigie di suo marito fuori della porta.
