Building a peaceful environment and providing basic needs contribute to building a strong and helpful community in the future. Children need to be well educated and have health care.

In Turkey we have celebrated a special day for children every year since 1927. It is held on the 23rd of April and is called ‘National Sovereignty and Child Feast.

In 1979 UNESCO declared it to be an international event.
