It's officially day 2 of me being in Abakiliki and I am really happy. Yesterday was cool and I really learnt quite a lot yaknow.
I woke up as early as I could, did my morning activities and went straight to the bathroom.
After taking care of myself, I went to the auditorium and sat for the orientation.
I was posted to the labour ward after the orientation, yep, that's where the main midwifery happens, both normal and abnormal midwifery.
The first delivery I witnessed here is of breech presentation, buttocks to be exact. That was the first time I ever witnessed breech presentation and the maneuver was really awesome.
During the delivery, I managed a patient with preeclampsia and she had to go through sectioning but not in my shift.
I was really happy to have helped with the delivery of the baby, he is alive, though he has a low apgar score, I am happy the resuscitation was successful.
Alot happened yesterday but this is the few I can share.
Anyhoo, I did my cleaning activities today before going out into nature. It felt really good and I am very happy.
