THE GRAVITATION OF OUR CELESTIAL BODIES

On today’s #DailyCelestialChallenge on The Forces of Nature initiated by sirknight@sirknight, I would speak on how the celestial bodies in our solar system deal with the way they attract objects to their surfaces (simply Their gravity and their landing allowance.

Firstly, one would ask the question, Is there any phenomenon behind the degree of how these planets attract objects to their surfaces (the strength of their gravitational pull)? Well ofcourse your question have been answered. Yes there is.

According to Sir Isaac Newton, a great founding father of the laws of physics, he clearly explains that Gravitational force between two bodies is proportional to their masses. Now this particular accomplishment of his helps us to answer the pondering question above. In more clearer terms, the bigger the planet(the larger its mass) the stronger the gravitational force.

So with that mentioned, we can decipher that Jupiter being the biggest planet in our universe, also has a corresponding stronger gravitational force. And to think of it, Jupiter is way bigger than our planet Earth, you could imagine how that force would be.

Unlucky for the planet, it possess no surface as a result of it being a Gas Giant. So one can comfortably say Jupiter would pull you through it’s whole planet body and take you out to the other end diametric to where you came through with its intensive pull ofcourse, a mighty effect.

An evidence of this gravitational intensity and the phenomenon Sir Newton stated can be seen in our very own Moon. Ever wondered why astronauts find it difficult to balance properly on its surface and always bouncing. This is a clear result of its weak gravitational force due to the Moon’s very small size.

Our planet Earth would have almost thesame gravitational force with its twin planet, Venus due to their almost-same sizes.

So with all that said and proven, below is a rank of the planets in sequence from the largest (strongest gravitational force) to smallest (weakest gravitational force);

Jupiter - (diameter = 142,800 km)
Saturn - (diameter = 120,660 km)
Uranus - (diameter = 51,118 km)
Neptune - (diameter -= 49,528 km)
Earth - (diameter = 12,756 km)
Venus - (diameter = 12,104 km)
Mars - (diameter = 6787 km)
Mercury - (diameter = 4879.4 km)

So this should give a hint on how strong their gravitational forces are, with Mercury being the weakest of the planets in terms of gravitation.
