Liverpool's win yesterday over Leeds was overshadowed by Harvey Elliot's injury. He has been released by the hospital and will need surgery in the next couple of days.

Judging by how quickly surgery is being scheduled, it looks like a fracture. Whether it is the ankle or just above remains to be confirmed. Completely unnecessary tackle and I feel that Pascal Struijk should see a longer ban.
It used to be the case that bad tackles were punished with longer suspensions. Or at least that's how I remember things from the 90s. But a long the way, longer term suspensions seem to have become rarer as players become more expensive and you can't have all those millions warming the bench.
Anyway, that's Harvey Elliot's season gone and I do hope he comes back from the injury back to normal. I remember Djibril Cisse breaking his leg and he was never the same player again. In Cisse's case, he had already scaled the heights but in Elliot's case, his career would be over before it even started and it would be his, Liverpool's and England's loss.
