For the longest time, since I started playing Rising Star in fact, I never paid attention to my ego. I knew it reduced the earnings on missions but I thought it was a negligible amount.
Then I saw a post by another player for the Saturday mission and his maximum possible amount for the mission was 800+ starbits with less fans, luck and skill. That was a heck of a lot more starbits than my 475 starbits possible.
And that's when I paid attention to my Ego. It was at 67 and so I decided to lower it by doing music lessons. I have been focusing exclusively on lessons to get my level up to 40. In the process, my ego has dropped to 44.
And if you look at the maximum possible starbits for the Saturday Headline mission, it is up to 792. That's a 67% increase from before the lessons!
So if there's one tip i could leave you with, it is that if you find your earnings dipping to a point that you feel is too low, then it is time to pay attention to the ego. I'm going to try and keep mine below 50% from now on.
