There's a lot of worry about the delta covid variant making its way around Asia these days. Indonesia and India seem to have been badly affected by it although the numbers seem to have peaked.
This is something with the initial wave as well. Beyond a certain number, the virus doesn't seem to increase exponentially. This does make sense as the most vulnerable are infected first and they stay home leaving those who are less likely to be infected to move about.
But one thing that does seem curious about this latest delta virus is how China doesn't seem to be affected despite removing all controls like masks and crowd control. For all the talk about sinovac being ineffective, either their hospitals have miraculously grown to be able to cope or they aren't reporting numbers accurately.
That the rest of Asia is affected but not China feels very strange.
