No secret at all, I'm glad that you've asked!

Since Hive is a public blockchain at its core, all the data is publicly available. There are well documented APIs for programmers to access all that happens on-chain. I spent some time learning and experimenting (actually it's been one of the goals of this project), and not so soon I found myself developing in Node.js.

I made a bot running on an older model spare Mac Mini, turned into a Linux server at my home. (Actually it's right here behind my back as I'm writing). It consumes all blocks and transactions, filters out all the emojis, aggregate the data into an SQLite database and generate and post a report based on it once it reaches a block passing midnight at UTC time.

And it's actually works most of the time. 🙃 Now I'm in the process of improving upon this greatly, both on the technical level, but both fundamentally. I want to make more value out of it for the community and myself, and I have an idea to turn this game of quantity into a game of quality, reward the top "players", highlight posts with interesting emojis inside, and more!
