Set the land speed record on the 15th of October 1997 at a whopping speed of 1228 km/h(763 mp/h)
It was the first land speed record car to break the sound barrier.
Thrust SSC's Successor, The Bloodhound SSC (SuperSonicCar) was designed to meet or surpass 1000 mp/h or 1609 km/h that is a 33 percent faster top speed than Thrust SSC, the biggest margin ever in the land speed record. The Bloodhound Project is almost ready to be set in motion, the first attempt being in October 2017 at Hakskeen Pan in the Northern-Cape in South-Africa.Driven by Andy Green, who also set the world record in the Thrust SSC.
This will truly be a sight to see, a car moving faster than the speed of sound itself, faster than any land vehicle has gone before.
Here is a computer generated video of what it might be like.
