For now, my title stands authentic but then, it could change tonight if Liverpool and Manchester City proceeds to the semi finals.
Sincerely, I was shocked at both Chelsea's and Villareal's performances yesterday. It quite believable that Chelsea could win yesterday but owning a win that could push them through to the semi finals wasn't what I was expecting to see.
I could have gambled my life saving that Chelsea won't qualify last night, though they didn't but it was just too close. At some point, I wished it was Mourinho and not Ancelotti because I'm so sure Chelsea wouldn't have seen three goals if it were Mourinho to be the manager for Real Madrid in the match last night.
It was definitely a big signature on the history book what Chelsea displayed yesterday. Though one of Chelsea's goal wouldn't have been counted if only there was more crucial check and that was the one by Rudiger, there was actually no corner kick in the first place.
Somehow, in the EPL space, there's this common belief that just Pep and Klopp had done so well in the EPL in the past few years, though Tuchel hasn't spent so much time in the league yet but even as a Chelsea rival, I can't come out to say he's not a great coach and that he can and would challenge Klopp and Pep so hard in the coming seasons? Yes I believe so!
The situation tied around the match last night kind of turned the match to a game for the coaches and not the players anymore but to some extent, I believe Ancelotti didn't realize that and he was only lucky to have seen the best of Benzema as usual.
It was definitely a lucky way out for Real Madrid and Tuchel did deserved more respects from last night match.
On the other side of the game last night, I was really pained because I had all in me believing that Munich was going to trash out Villareal so bad.
This was really another match for the manager. I seriously love Mourinho in states like these. According to some news I saw online, Munich's manager had already fumbled that Villareal was going to be the least of their problem and this same manager decided to allow his players deliver while he seats to watch I guess....
Do you know Emery so well?
Emery is basically the best and the most dangerous underdog manager. You can easily predict his play pattern but trust me, if the manager playing against him doesn't own the manager, forget the best of the players on pitch, he's very much likely to lose to Emery.
The pressure and push was definitely much from Munich and it always more than that if a manager wants to beat Emery. I could remember the UEL final between Manchester United and Villareal, that was the same mistake Ole made, he couldn't own the match like Emery did as a manager and Ole lost.
Cutting the long story so short, Villareal made history last night and they're head for their first appearance in the UCL Semifinals finals. Even if they do not get to the finals, it's definitely a great achievement for them to have knocked off Bayern Munich and proceed to the semi finals.
