It's been a while I watched football with so much joy, happiness, and excitement. I was surely expecting Manchester United to win but this was quite big and I wasn't expecting that considering the absence of so many players.
It's now believed that Manchester United now has a strong team and a fair depth too. Personally, I feel United is quite fine for now and the only fear seems to be injuries. The league just started and United already has an injury list, it's quite bad but not affecting the team yet. I just hope all the boys get fit before the league comes out tougher.
Is Ole really capable of a Trophy?
This has been a question running through my mind because, I've been hearing so much comments from people. They've said so much about how tough it's really going to be for a manager like Ole to win trophies in England. Well, I sometimes agree with them but something was different with Ole today and it's seems like I am beginning to trust him as a coach but I still need to see what his decisions would be in few matches to come.
Watching United taking a lead of 3 - 1 today, for a typical Ole I used to know, he would try to defend the victory as soon as the time passes the 70th minute but he played on my thoughts today and I really loved that. I was expecting that he was going to build up a defensive wall by bringing in a DM (Matic) which he did and by bringing in another defender while he takes off Pogba and Scott but I was shocked!
Ole played the United's tradition today. I've asked myself - he was a United player, he should understand that United is all about scoring more goals and not defending a victory. Sometimes the traditional pattern hurts United but on most cases, it helps to win many matches.
I watched him pulled out Daniel James and yet bring in Sancho to keep the attack so heavy but I realized something.......
Why didn't he play this last season?
I want to assume and believe that Ole himself knew he doesn't have much depth in his squad last season and he had to protect his big players. I think that was what made him pull some decisions on the pitch that really disappointed many fans. Now he has some options and one more reason why I think he decided to keep Jesse Lingard too. That was smart of him!
Most especially Pogba, he really killed the show today. He made the match his own and Bruno Fernandes made the gaols his own. The collaboration between these two players today really took off much expectations from Sancho I much say!
Pogba was really matured on the pitch today and for the goals, Fernandes and Greenwood really took care of the attacking attempts. Daniel James wasn't really there for me today. I would have preferred Ole starting Sancho since we do not have Rashford and Cavani on ground.
I really can't trust United for a trophy yet but let's see how the process and progress goes.......
Arsenal made the EPL opening quite scary. Though I had watched Brentford against United in the pre-season but I don't see them strong enough to have taken Arsenal down like that.
It's true Arsenal didn't have Lacazette and Aubameyang but in my own opinion, they shouldn't have lost that match even without their two attackers. It's still very early, table can always turn around but..........
How long can Arsenal go with their current squad?
For me, the two goals Brentford had shows lack of coordination in the Gunners' squad and I don't think that's they job of any of the players missing in the match.
Aside from that, Arsenal haven't struck any premium deal in the transfer window yet and I feel that's really a bad state for the team as they currently need at least a new big name in the team. Well, the transfer window is still on and open and there are rooms for surprises!
